Linux 2.6 - Configuring swap onto NFS mounted root file system ...
Is it possible and working ?
If yes - any specific caveats (commands, conditions, etc.),
which are different from configuring swap on "diskful" Linux system ?

Well, you can swap on a file on NFS via a loopback mount.
