more information? hmm a little bit:

the FSC Amilo is a OEM product, the Orginal is Uniwill P50CA[1]

Chipset      : VIA (VT8237R) integrated audio controller
Audio Codec  : VIA VT1618
Sound        : DirectSound 3D, EAX 1.0 & 2.0 compatible
Capabilities : A3D, I3DL2 compatible
               AC97 V2.3 compatible
               5.1 Multi-channel compatible
               2 Stereo Speakers with 1 Subwoofer

The sound works perfectly, but not a good bass.

Actaully, it's an unknown codec chip.  Looks like an ac97 codec from VIA,
but no idea what model is.  Do you have any information?
Also, any missing features with the current version?
