The board file comes together with the board, as a bunch bdwlan.e*/bdwlang.e* files on the modem partition. I was using the one corresponding to the board id. But note, that the driver reports that it did not get the 'failed to wait board file download request'. So, it would be good to get the board file into the board-2.bin, but for me it looks like a separate story. > Can you file this to bugzilla: > > https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/drivers/ath11k/bugreport > > That way it's easier to track and I can try to find the correct board > file. (make, model etc) Unfortunately I can provide only a few details here. All the issues happen on the Qualcomm SM8450 devices. One device (Lantronix HDK8450) just lists 'WCN6856' (WCN6856_80-WL542 in the schematics). Other devices that I have been using have the third party WiFi modules onboard, but they are not public yet, so I can not provide exact details either. -- With best wishes Dmitry -- ath11k mailing list ath11k@lists.infradead.org http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/ath11k ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 14+ messages in thread

This will take time, sorry. I might be mistaken, but for me it looks like the problem is not in the missing board file. I have added local board.bin. The problem with the WLAN.HSP.1.1 firmware is that it does not request the board data file on these boards (as pointed by the last line in the log: 'failed to wait board file download request'). The WLAN.HSP.2.0 firmware loads the board file correctly. The old, unsupported WLAN.HSP.1.1 firmware (from ChromeOS repo) also loads the bdf correctly. -- With best wishes Dmitry -- ath11k mailing list ath11k@lists.infradead.org http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/ath11k ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 14+ messages in thread
