Hi,
During the 2.6.11.901 testing phase a few people reported system freezes.
What was the result of that discussion?
I still experience those freezes with kernel-2.6.34 + intel 2.12,
quite frequently when watching high resolution flash videos.
Any idea what the problem could be?
Thanks, Clemens

All depends upon the system. Jesse is working on a couple of patches that
address the change in handling of the vblank interrupt in some revisions
of the i945/i965 chipsets. That's the known failure mode...

i also have this issue, and can (temporary) fix this with this patch
provided in the fedora src rpms:

There are 3 relevant bugs here:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28518 - dual head flipping breaks on 915
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28788 - flipping on 945 broken
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28852 - flipping on 965 broken
However, after working around an unrelated interrupt issue on my 945
(had to boot with clocksource=tsc to avoid some platform interrupt
breakage), page flipping has been very stable for me. I ran an OA demo
in a loop overnight last night and have been abusing the system with
bad flips and such today and haven't seen any hangs.
Clemens, can you test Stephan's patch to see if it makes your hangs go
away?
Stephan, what bits are you using? Can you check the above bugs for
anything relevant?
Thanks,
