Great work getting this card going! Thanks :)
I'm testing on a Powerbook 5,6 15" and have the same distortion mentioned,
but can't test 1.0.11-rc2 due to module errors occuring with snd (will be
upodating here when I see if I can isolate the problem)
Keep up the good work.
cheers

Many thanks for this !
I just tested and I have sound. However:
- At low volume the sound is badly distorded with some noise. I suppose it
might be the case at higher volume too. There's also this constant volume
white noise at all volume level : listen to some quiet music at high
volume to hear it. Test done using xmms + alsa out plug in
Just for reference using windows you can put the card to 0db in the
creative mixer (ie all the way to the max) and the sound is crystal
clear)
- Output is very loud, a lot louder at the same settings that the internal
intel hda card (which I always found a bit low)
- If you go too high with the Master or PCM slider clicks appears
- front, rear and center outputs give no sound but I suppose this is
expected

This card is still not working in Linux.
The current status is that the card is now recognised, but the sound
output is badly distorted. Until that is fixed, the card is still unusable
in Linux.
The distortion is like it doing massive gain (+12 dB) and then clipping
the result, so pretty nasty. So, still work-in-progress

No support yet. I need someone to donate a card to me, so that I can
reverse engineer it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
gflash - 02-20-05 14:06
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Any idea how long it usualy takes until someone donate such a card? I don't
have have enough money for two cards (one for me, one for you :), but if
there would be some more people to share the costs, i would spend about
20-30 Euro. It costs about 110 Euro in Germany.
I'm really interested in this card :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
jcdutton - 02-20-05 14:47
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Get my email address from the source code of the ca0106 driver.
The card cost about 90 (UK pounds) here.
I already have 10 donated.
Any you add would help toward getting this card.

Hi, i was just wondering what the status of this is?
I see from the card matrix:
"Card delivered to developers. Bug found in Linux Kernel PCMCIA code, but
bug fix not found yet."
Are the linux kernel PCMCIA developers aware of this bug?
Thanks,
Dale

Updated Status: alsa CVS 30-10-2005

The card is now properly recognised.
TODO: The sound is badly distorted, so more work need to be done to fix
that.

Thanks,
Dale

Any idea how long it usualy takes until someone donate such a card? I don't
have have enough money for two cards (one for me, one for you :), but if
there would be some more people to share the costs, i would spend about
20-30 Euro. It costs about 110 Euro in Germany.
I'm really interested in this card :)
