The shoes on the other foot now.   Ugly as a mud fence. A stick in the mud.   You throw filth on the living and flowers on the dead.Pin a rose on your nose. The scum of the earth.   Rare as walking on water.  Worked night and day. You have to separate the chaff from the wheat. Shiver me timber. Stubborn as a mule.   When the cows come home.  Sow much, reap much; sow little, reap little. Survival of the fittest.   Sturdy as an oak.   When you get lemons, make lemonade.(When life gives you scraps make quilts.) Shiver me timber. When pigs fly.  Spring forward fall back.
