Hi Takashi, thanks for your immediate answer. I unplugged the card and found it has 2 ac97 chips:

SIGMATEL STAC9721T
WM XWM9704

I'm considering upgrading to a Sounblaster Audigy (for this among many other reasons) but I read that it has similar problems with 5.1 output, is that still true?
