Move the firmware attributes class helper out of platform/x86, rename
the coreboot-table firmware driver directory from google to coreboot, and
add a coreboot CFR firmware attributes driver.

Changes in v4:
- Rebase onto current upstream/master.
- Add Mark's Reviewed-by to patch 1.
- Include <linux/device-id/coreboot.h> instead of
  <linux/mod_devicetable.h> in the CFR driver.

Move the firmware attributes class helper out of platform/x86, rename
the coreboot-table firmware driver directory from google to coreboot, and
add a coreboot CFR firmware attributes driver.

Changes in v5:
- Keep the coreboot CFR include list sorted.
- Move firmware_attributes.h into the sorted include block.
- Store the CFR driver data on the firmware-attributes class device instead
  of using a file-global pointer.
- Use the existing (str + 1) pattern when deriving CFR string payload data.

Move the firmware attributes class helper from drivers/platform/x86 to
drivers/firmware and expose its class declaration through a public Linux
header.

The helper is not x86-specific. Keeping it in firmware lets coreboot
firmware drivers use the standard firmware-attributes ABI without living
under platform/x86.

Most drivers in drivers/firmware/google are coreboot table drivers rather
than Google-specific firmware drivers. Rename the directory to coreboot
and update the Kconfig prompt, build path and maintainer entry.

Keep the existing CONFIG_GOOGLE_* symbols to avoid user configuration
churn in this mechanical move.

coreboot can publish a CFR tree in its coreboot table to describe
firmware setup options. Add a firmware-attributes driver for that table
entry under the coreboot firmware driver directory.

The driver exposes runtime EFI variable-backed boolean, enum and integer
settings through the firmware-attributes ABI. It only registers settings
with readable runtime EFI variables, skips suppressed, volatile,
dependency-gated and non-runtime options, and keeps read-only or inactive
options read-only in sysfs.

For settings with an APM_CNT runtime-apply record, write the EFI variable
and ask firmware to apply the setting immediately on x86. If firmware
reports a failure, restore the old EFI variable value. Settings without a
runtime apply hook, or non-x86 builds, keep the EFI variable update and
set pending_reboot.

Tested on a Star Labs Byte with firmware 26.07 and the driver built as a
module against Linux 6.17: runtime APM_CNT apply was verified with
power_led, and reboot-needed behavior was verified with debug_level.

Hi Sean,

With this moving from a relative file path include to a full Linux header include, it should be moved up to be with the other header includes above (in alphabetical order).

Applies to all drivers below as well.

With those changes,

Move the firmware attributes class helper out of platform/x86, rename
the coreboot-table firmware driver directory from google to coreboot, and
add a coreboot CFR firmware attributes driver.

Changes in v6:
- Move firmware_attributes.h into the sorted Linux include block in each
  converted platform/x86 driver.
- Add Derek's Reviewed-by to patch 1.

firmware: Move firmware attributes class helper

Hi Sean,

Generally you will want to give a bit more time between revisions to allow people to review. 1-2 days during the work week is usually the acceptable minimum time between versions. Sending too frequently can cause people to review older patches without noticing the same issue was already identified/fixed later and nobody wants to read the same patch 4 times in a row on a Monday.

Cheers,
- Derek

I wasn't aware so many drivers had headers out of the usual order. There may be a reason these (and others) were in that specific order, and the changes aren't really related to the problem you're looking at. It would probably be better to not touch the load order of anything except the firmware_attributes header, but wait for Armin or Ilpo to provide more specific feedback on that. If they don't mind it you'll at least want to add some documentation in the commit message that it was changed. Something like:

While updating includes, ensure existing includes are alphabetical order.

Generally though, Ilpo will request those sorts of changes be in their own patch.

Cheers,
Derek

Hi Sean,

I tested this patch as part of the full v6 series on the following systems:

- Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen 1
- Lenovo ThinkPad P50s

On both systems, think-lmi continued to register successfully after
applying the series.

I compared the firmware-attributes sysfs tree, exposed file list, and
all readable attribute values against the unpatched kernel:

- ThinkPad P15 Gen 1: 107 files, no differences
- ThinkPad P50s: 294 files, no differences

Reboot and suspend/resume completed successfully on both systems, and
the ThinkLMI attributes remained available after resume. Full poweroff
was also tested successfully on the P50s.

No new relevant kernel warnings, Oopses, or call traces were observed.

Tested-by: Oliver Lin <oliver@liuxiaozhen.dev>

Best regards,
Oliver

To be concise,

    for (off = 0; off < len; off += entry->size)

This deserves a comment as coreboot_cfr_label_from_value() returns a `char *`
instead of bool.

Does it really need the check?

Doesn't it need to do anything if sees unknown `entry->tag`?

No more data to clear,

    return PTR_ERR(...);

Nothing to do other than a return. The label can be removed.
