I have SCSI devices backing the VBDs for my VMs. Is there an easy way
to get vendor specific mode pages from a VBD in the absence of a
passthrough driver?

Not really, I'm afraid.

You'd have to hack in some meta data request type into the blkring
messages.

What scsi modepage information are you interested in getting access to
within a domU?
