Just to explain: I did not check it yet because no update to 6.9 has been made
in the stable Mageia up to now. I would like to omit "messing" the system with
"external" kernels. I will check it after kernel will be updated to 6.9 or
later.

Conversely; I do want to point out upstream kernel bug trackers are for
upstream kernels.
Distros sometimes pick up patches that cause problems and so they're "usually"
the best first triage. If they confirm it's not their patch they will generally
suggest an upstream kernel and reporting it upstream.

The problem still persists on v6.11-rc6 on Lenovo ThinkBook 14 G6+ 2024 AMD
Ryzen 7 8845H. Blacklisting ideapad_laptop module helps to solve it locally.

Hi all,
I've sent a patch to fix the issue, see
https://lore.kernel.org/all/20250525201833.37939-1-i@rong.moe/
If this fixes your issue, you may reply there with your Tested-by:.
Thanks,
Rong

THX :))
I am not sure: I could not find it in a change log - is this patch an
experimental one or will it be included into the main kernel line?
I usually do not compile a kernel, relying on binary forms from distributions,
so I will most probably await a bit until it emerges there; one of the
workarounds (removing of the ideapad-laptop module), although cuts some energy
management-related functionalities, works for me by now, so the bug ceased to
be a critical in my case.

It is awaiting review from maintainers and hasn't been merged. Testing it out
and sending a Tested-by helps the review process.

I does not work, I'm afraid, in my setup (see top of the thread).
I have upgraded to the kernel 6.6.93-desktop-1.mga9 (a binary one, from regular
Mageia repository, not compiled by myself), which, as far as I could chceck it,
should have this patch incorporated(?)
Unfortunately, I could observe an unchanged behavior: after closing the lid the
notebook comes to sleep, but after later disconnecting the charger it turns
completely off :-/

Sorry, the change has not been included though.
There is a IDEAPAD_EC_TIMEOUT definition (which confused me),
but
schedule();
has not been replaced by
usleep_range(IDEAPAD_EC_POLL_MIN_US, IDEAPAD_EC_POLL_MAX_US);
Sorry once again; I will be monitoring repository updates and will report the
behavior after the patch inclusion.
