dmesg, dmidecode and xxd ec output

Like other users are reporting, with the HP Omen ap-16ap0xxx (motherboard 8E35)
the fans are not working properly.

Issue:
The system is able to read fan speeds correctly, but no PWM control interface
is exposed.
Fans appear to run at firmware-controlled speeds and do not respond to
temperature changes driven by the OS. Under heavy workload, the CPU and GPU
temperature will rise to 100°C, thermal throttling will begin, but fan speeds
might or might now increase. 

Details:
- fans detected
- fan1 and fan2 report valid RPM values
- no PWM control available (pwm1: N/A)
- fan_target not working

Impact:
The system does not adjust fan speeds on heavy workloads.

Possible Reason:
Board ID (8E35) not listed in hp_wmi driver.

Attached logs:
- dmesg
- dmidecode
- EC dump
- OMEN gaming hub log from windows

Please let me know if additional debugging (ACPI tables, EC dump, etc.) is
required.

Hi Ahmet,

Your device ID 8E35 was not present in any whitelist, which caused platform
profile switching and fan control to fail.

Could you please apply the patch (attachment 310134) and test the following:

1. Check dmesg for successful registration message:
   "hp_wmi: Registered as platform profile handler"

2. Verify that fan RPM is readable and controllable via sysfs
(/sys/devices/platform/hp-wmi/hwmon/*).

3. Verify that on changing platform profile, and it does physically change the
amount of power drawn in the CPU/GPU.

Hi Krishna,

thank you very much for your quick help. I tried compiling and installing
kernel 7.1, but unfortunately I have issues with that as I am currently on
6.17. I get errors when trying to install and kernel panics when trying to
boot.

I also see I cannot apply the fix to 6.17 version of hp_wmi. The file was
refactored in between. Copy pasting the new file to 6.17 causes compile errors.
Can you provide an equivalent fix for 6.17?

Hi Krishna,

I was now able to update the hp_wmi with dkms. The board is now detected by
hp_wmi. But I cannot control the PWMs.
