I'm using kernel 2.6.33-rc4, libdrm from git and nouveau driver from git. In
KDE 4.3.4 I have a lot of artefacts on popup menus, on panel and with window
decorations. Also sometimes I have problems with fonts in konsole, some letters
are "screwed" i.e. I see some strange symbols instead of right char, restarting
X helps to solve this.

Testing KDE 4.4 RC2 with 2.6.33-rc5, Xorg server 1.7.4 and
nouveau-firmware-20091212-1mnb2,
x11-driver-video-nouveau-0.0.15-0.20091221.1mdv2010.1 also resulted in screen
artifacts. KDE bug report was closed as upstream integration problem between
qt4 and noueveau driver:  https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224001

Screenshot of the corruption

Here you can see the taskbar entry of konversation that has a strange icon.
This can happen randomly, sometimes on all taskbar entries.

Xorg logs: /var/log/Xorg.0.log

The bug you encounter is known, please monitor entry #28039. 

I also happen to have the same problem, the problem should be fixed soon.

We have the very same card and we may have the same laptop :)

Nouveau may seem snappier, but it really isn't (yet).

Please monitor this thread, I'll tell you when I'm done with it.
