Corrupted display of blender after trying to select lamp

Hello,

when I tried to work with blender I ran into the problem, that the selection of
objects did not work. I started blender an tried to select the light or camera
by clicking on the object with the right mouse button. The object does not get
hightlighted as expected, but the shape of the lamp is hughly drawn over the
window (please have a look at the attached screenshot).

I tested against software rendering and there it works correctly (= the lamp
only changes color).

I really appretiate your work!
