when I load ubuntu 11.10 with kernel 3.0 or 12.04 alpha with 3.2 the efi mode
loads garbage. if i turn off modesetting in bios emulation I get a working vesa
mode, otherwise it loads a scrambled screen too.
the gpu is 320m. 
1.11 / 7.6 x.org version.

Sorry for the late answer, could you please try again with a newer kerneland
send us the logs if it still doesn't work?

I also guess this is an Apple product because you said you are using EFI and
that the 320m could either be the NVS 320M (nv84) or the Geforce 320m (nvaf).
