kern.log

After 2/3 days of work on my laptop with suspend/resume next resume caused
blank screen (network was ok, I will be able to login via ssh and try to
something) and nothing helps only REISUB.

Resume was about 16:28 13/11/2012.

In kern.log I see PFIFO_CACHE_ERROR and anothers.

Please re-test with the latest kernel (e.g. 3.11-rc7). If problems persist,
please include a log that includes the boot. If it hangs, grab dmesg via ssh,
that will be most useful. (If it gets cut off, you can increase the log limit.)

Hello,

How can I do it on UBUNTU 12.04?! Probably LTS does not support 3.11-rc7
kernel.

ps.

From my day work I switched from DELL LATITUDE E6510 to another laptop (because
resume/suspend problems).

This laptop currently used by my 10 years old son to play Minecraft. So it's
not easy to switch kernel... :-)

Thanks for suggestion about google.com. Unfortunately links your found are too
general, first link even doesn't mention 12.04 LTS, 2nd says about new updates
to kernel but also this is too general. I thought that you found for example
distibution packages with 3.11-rc7, as I know 12.04 offers only 3.5.0-23.35. Do
you know wheter 3.11-rc7 contains fixes for my bug?!

No clue. What I do know is that a whole bunch of stuff _has_ been fixed since
3.2, which came out nearly two years ago. The driver has undergone substantial
changes since then. If you're stuck on whatever your distro provides, you
should file the issue with your distribution, and we can close this one
(although I suspect they'll just say "get the latest versions of everything and
complain to upstream" or perhaps "nouveau doesn't work on new hardware on
Ubuntu LTS"). At least one of the links I provided showed how to compile your
own kernels on Ubuntu. I believe the other one provides packages that let you
keep your LTS-based distro more up-to-date wrt hardware support.
