in case you haven't heard, AndroVM is a project to get Andriod running inside
VirtualBox http://androvm.org , anyway, when using hardware acceleration, the
gpu locks up.

VirtualBox is well known for scribbling all over kernel memory (there's a
reason its modules mark the kernel as tainted), it will be hard to debug
anything relying on vbox... can you reproduce this with a "regular" program?

Also, you might want to try the latest kernel/mesa, might help with vbox.

Might be hard to test. I've switched to Radeon a few weeks ago. Although once I
get a new motherboard and processor I plan on hooking both the Radeon and
Nvidia card up and use the Nvidia card for my VMs using VGA passthrough as my
current board doesn't support IOMMU. Although It wouldn't be the only issue
with GPU lockups with Nouveau, recently the GPU locksup locks up when running
the "performance assessment" in Windows 7 to refresh the "Windows Experience
Index" in VirtualBox while it works perfectly fine in the binary blob and
Radeon. Want me to file a new bug report for that?

Haven't tried it anywhere else, QEMU has no hardware acceleration and VMware is
crap compared to VBox and is proprietary. I'm guessing you don't have a 560 Ti
on hand to test this on or you wouldn't need to ask these questions, or you
just don't have a Windows 7 VM on hand. Which would explain why some of these
bugs exist, it is pretty impressive you guys got nouveau to work this well.
Nvidia should be paying you.
