Does anyone know what the pronunciation of "SELinux"
is? i.e. How to pronounce SELinux?

Thanks.

Best Regards,

That depends on the speed.

Slowly it's "S E Linux", more quickly it may resemble "sea-Linux" and some
people have pronounced it like "easy-Linux".

For the pronounciation of "Linux" you want the file "linux.au" where Linus
tells it. Let me know by private email if you can't find a copy of that file
and I'll put it on my site.

Would you like me to make an MP3 where I say "SE Linux" a few times?

Throughout all of my presentations, both english and german, I have
always said "S-E-Linux" (i.e. pronouncing the S and E as individual
letters).

I've never heard anyone else saying it different.

I've always pronounced it as it was spelled, "S E Linux" - the fist
two letters said phonetically and the word 'Linux' pronounced in a
flat variation to the way Linus pronounces it.

Sure, why not? ;-)

Yes :)

Although in Germany, when talking to Linux folks it might be a nice
idea to pronounce the "SE" in German, that is the "e" in this case is
an "e" like in "elk": This can be understood as a pun, alluding to the
"Mercedes SEL" limousine, which in Germany still seems to be a symbol
for a luxury car: Linuxers, at least those that I know, don't seem to
like it if you allude their non-SElinux systems being substandard ... :P

As for the Torvalds-pronounces-Linux sound files :

And even a penguin saying it (little movie, my favorite, so far .. :):
