hi,
I dont know is it right mailing list for this question or not.
i am using ar5312 and i am getting only 4.5 mbps in case of multicast
traffic and upto 13 mbps in case of unicast traffic. Any clue?
thanks,
Mitul Modi

What channel are you using?
What is your setup? Does the multicast traffic is sent from STA to AP or
the opposite ?
Unicast traffic is controlled by the rate control algorithm, trying to
achieve the best performance.
Multicast traffic is not under the rate control algorithm and since it
cannot be retransmitted, nor ACKed, it is transmitted at 1 Mbits rate in
802.11bg and 6 Mbits rate in 802.11a.
Regards,
Benoit

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Setup is simple PC1 <wired> STA <Wireless> AP <Wired Gateway> PC2. Multicast
traffic is going from PC1 to PC2.
So, rate control algorithm is there in hardware or in driver itself ?. I
have snifffe the packet using aeropic and found that the rate in multicast
frame is more that 6 Mbps.
Thanks,
Mitul Modi
