Installation question

Hi,

I just joined this list and I had a question about installing Ultrapenguin.
I have an IPX running RH 4.2 and I wish to try UltraPenguin. I do not have a
dedicated connection to the net for a tftp install. I am downloading the
Ultrapenguin binaries to an unused harddrive partition. Is there a boot.img
to install from a hard drive partition yet? I tried the boot2.img from the
.../misc/src/trees directory without success. Could someone give me some
suggestions.   BTW is there a bootable UltrPenguin cd that someone has
created??

Installation Question

Hello all.. I am attempting to install UltraPenguin 1.1.9 on a Ultra5 using
the 'boot net' option to boot from the tftp image. The system finds the
image across the network, you see the download happen and then:

29ba00 TILO
root child is f002ca28
clock_probe: cannot find timer chip
program terminated
ok

Has anyone seen this ?

Not to my knowledge, how recent is this boot image you have?

I pulled it off of ultra.linux.cz, from the ultrapenguin-1.1/sparc/images
dir. I was assuming this was the most current. Any thoughts ?

Try the ones under /pub/ultrapenguin-1.1.9/

Thanks for any help you can give me.  I have set this box up and am 
getting riddled with the messages.  In console mode I get several messages 
everytime I type a command.

Since I know nothing about /usr/stow or jsaf, I can't help you, other than
to note that you need to define appropriate types for these files and
likely a separate domain for jsaf.

You have two choices.  One is to not use stow and instead use a distribution 
that puts all the files in the proper places.  Another is to re-write the 
file contexts files to refer to where stow puts things (that is a lot of work 
with multiple directories containing bin or sbin files).

It'll be a lot easier to use a distribution.
