does lesstif >= 0.84 compiles under ultrapenguin?
also, what modifications do i have to make to the gcc, g77, gpc, gcl
sources to get them to work under ultralinux?

Yes and it ready to use in rpm packages (current is 0.85):
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/contrib/hurricane/{SRPMS,sparc}
or:
ftp://ftp.task.gda.pl/pub/people/kloczek/{SRPMS,sparc}
All stuff from above URLs is for UP.
