1.1 great, netscape?

Hi,

I had an extra Ultra I with a Creator card lying around in my
office and last eve was inspired to put Ultrapenguin on it.
It installed perfectly and took about 30 minutes total from
reading the instructions to login.  Great job!

What is the current status of Netscape with ultrapenguin?
Native binary?  Solaris emulation?

I believe there is a native Sparclinux binary these days. Not for 4.08
when I looked the other day, but 4.07 should be there.

in the 'unsupported' tree I think.

There's a native sparc/linux bin that should work on
ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/communicator/4.5/english/unix/unsupported/linux20_sparc_glibc2/complete_install/communicator-v45-export.sparc-unknown-linux2.0.tar.gz

That has got to be the single most obscene directory tree naming scheme
i've seen all day.  Anyway, It should work fine.  Some people have had
problems with it core dumping if you use the install script.  Read the
script, it has stuff telling how to do it by hand.  Dunno why this is, I
havn't looked very hard.

Hi all,

hmm.. I downloaded the Navigator-only binary (which is about 7MB). But
they have linked libc++.so.2.8 dynamicly.... Is there a RPM with this
lib?  I have tried to build it on my own.... without success :-(.

It would be great if someone could send me this lib. Or is there a
staticly linked version of the Navigator? 

Someone else in this list said that there is a 4.0x SparcLinux-Verion
of the Navigator. So far I could not find any....

I'm not sure. libc++ is reasonably new. What problem did you have
compiling it? I compiled gcc and libc++ no problem on Solaris 2.6
(sparc).

Ah yes my apologies, it would appear I was mistaken. I must have seen
4.5.
