We have test latest xen on VT platform with Intel 915 chipset and Here is the test summary:
IA32:
Build&Boot SMP xen0 without problem
Can startup unmodified 2.4/2.6 linux on VMX domain
Can startup VMX & Xen with different configuration
Can startup Windows Domain
Part of LTP runs well in VMX domain(2.6)
IA32E:
Build&Boot SMP xen0 without problem
Can startup unmodified 2.6 linux on VMX domain
Can startup VMX & xenU with different configuration
Part of LTP runs well in VMX domain(2.6)
Main issues of VMX domain:
Installations of SUSE10 IA32, FC2 IA32 failed on both IA32 and IA32e hosts.
Installations of RHEL3U5 IA32e, FC2 IA32e and SUSE 10 IA32e failed on IA32e host.
Two Windows XP guest will cause second Windows guest to blue screen
Can not create IA32 VMX domain on IA32E platform
Cannot enter run level 5 for RHEL4U1 IA32E guest
Install windows xp with add lapic=1 will crash guest OS
Install HCT on windows xp guest will crash guest OS
"vcpu-pin" will cause service OS hang
date in VMX of IA32E environment is faster than normal

You reported running (quite successfully) Xen on VT platform.
I am sure many other people are also interested to have some
clarification. So please answer to this list.
I am considering to purchase a new PC with all the gear needed for Xen
with Intel VT. If we are not talking about Xeon processors, I need
Pentium 4 662 or 672. In addition, according to Intel web pages
<URL:http://www.intel.com/products/processor_number/body_view_p4.htm>,
I also need a compatible BIOS. Is this really so? Basically, which
chipsets work with VT in 662 and 672? I would like to use 955x or
925X as they both support ECC memory.
If you don't know the answer, please ask someone else as I can
imagagine asking normal support channels could produce useless,
inaccurate or plain incorrect answer.
Best regards,
Antti Louko

One further question. I just wonder if 662 and 672 are really
different to 660 and 670 or is this just the matter of microcode
update or some other magic? This would explain the need for the
special BIOS.
