No, it doesn't work since the required features are missing in OSS.

Well, don't expect that it works flawlessly :)
It's just a proof of concept how crazy you can set up a system.
For example, you can do like the following with these plugins:

OSS app -> aoss wrapper -> ALSA JACK plugin - > JACK client ->
  JACK server -> ALSA OSS plugin -> OSS kernel emulation ->
  ALSA kernel driver
