thanks for your patch!
i think yours is the simplest way atm.
if there are many other devices which need this workaround, we can add
a new quirk for that.

now i'm working on usb-audio driver, too, so i'll commit this change
later together with mine to cvs.

Have you had a chance to test if the input 3 and 4 are functioning for 
you with the quattro?
