The Master and PCM volumes belong to AC97.
And it seems the bus connected for output is irrelevant to AC97
control unlike SB Live.
Strangely, I once got a similar report as you described, but after
that I got another report that AC97 affects the front volume
actually. So I'm puzzled..
The difference between "Music" and "Wave" is depending on your
soundfont. Most of soundfonts are composed with relatively lower
volumes.
