Hi
first of all thanks for the great work done until now
let's see my problem
I'm running debian unstable and alsa 0.9.3a
i have 2 problem
1) the system volume is controlled by the headphone volume
2) I ear a lot of noise from the speackers also id anything is playing,
changing the volume of vXD with alsamixer I'm alble to get out most of
the noise muting the right channel but from the left stil remain some
noise
I dunno really if this is a bug or some strange kind of misconfiguration
..
anyway I hope that someone here can help me pointing me some kind of
solution.
Let me knoiw if and which additional information you need to better
understand what is goning on
P.S: the noise is present also if i use devfsd
thanks in advance
Alessio

please let me know the pci subsystem vendor/product ids, which you can
get from the output of lspci -nvv. then i'll add the workaround.

which ac97 codec chip?
IIRC, there was a bug around AD1885 chip. try the latest version.
