I use latest CVS, but also tried rc2. Modules load, i unmute and adjust volume, but alas: no sound. The dmasound_pmac modules however do work and sound. But obviously, I want alsa. I saw a similar message in the achives: http://www.geocrawler.com/archives/3/12350/2002/3/0/8248990/ without reply... Help is greatly appreciated! It is possible that Alsa is set-up for CD Audio to reach the sound hardware on an analogue line. If the sound hardware, such as 'Screamer' does not have such an input then it may be impossible to raise the CD volume above zero (check the maximum level quoted in amixer). Modern Macs do not use analogue connections between the CD player and the sound hardware, but a digital connection. There is a patch to xmms that may help. <URL: http://www.imaclinux.net/gh.php?single=18 > Ben. -- Privileged/Confidential Information may be contained in this message.
