General questions about ALSA library

I have several questions here.

1. Is there any ALSA audio development conference
meeting within U.S.A?
2. I tried to download latest release for alsa library
from http://www.alsa-project.org/ using IE,
it tells to check whether I have permission etc. How 
could I download it?

3. Is there any doc to tell how to put my own plugin 
inside the ALSA library, how could I rebuild library
etc?

4. where is the best place for sound effect in the

Not planned (yet)...

Use firefox or whatever you like :)

Sorry, no proper documentation yet.  I'll prepare later.
You can build your own plugin with PCM plugin SDK (via ioplug and
extplug types).  Some examples are found in alsa-plugins package.
