Summary: No Sound on Acer with Intel ICH6 HDA and Realtek
ALC260
Description:
I can load the snd-hda-intel module and play a file via aplay or xmms or
play a cd without any error, but I cannot hear anything neither via the
build-in speakers nor via headphones. All volume controllers are at 70%
and unmuted, except for PCM, because there is no mute/unmute-button.

grattemedi: the Acer fix is not integrated yet. Just wait a few days, as it
should be there very soon. Afterwards, you'll be able to test it.

For those watching this bug who are not on alsa-devel: I've just submitted
a series of 7 patches containing a number of pending patches I've been
working on for the past few weeks. Of particular interest for most here
will be patch 5/7, which adds the "acer" model. This has been modelled
closely on the patch Rimas posted to alsa-devel. I've tidied up some
comments and changed a handful of things to fit in with some changes made
in patchs 1-4 from the series of 7. Kudos to all those who have assisted
with the development of this model over the past few weeks. There's still
some rough edges to iron out but I think most of the hard work has been
done. Well done!
Hopefully this patch series will be merged into CVS soon. Feel free to
test the patches earlier if you wish - you can pick them up from
alsa-devel. Note that for best results you'll want to grab all 7.
Other things added by this patch series which may be of interest:
* SPDIF enable switches for the "test" model
* GPIO switches for the "test" model
