Uname: 2.6.20-9-lowlatency #2 SMP PREEMPT x86_64 GNU/Linux (ubuntu feisty)
This bug also happens with 2.6.19 from ubuntu edgy.
When trying to run basically anything with wine, I get a brief click in my
speakers, and the following in dmesg. Sound continues to work, but the wine
process will be stuck in the D state.

Looks like so. Could you check whether this occurs on the latest
2.6.21-rc? There are tons of fixes after 2.6.20, so let's reduce
these possibilities first.
