Personally I am more interested in getting 1.0.11 working than the old
1.0.9b (have the realtek patch there which works).. and in 1.0.11rc3 these

I guess I could stick with the Realtek driver, if it wasn't for the small
detail that Alsa-driver 1.0.9b doesn't compile with current kernels.. not
sure which would be most work, making 1.0.9b compile, or figuring out why
1.0.10 and later hangs..
Don't know many others using this board, it's fairly new, AMD, and
integrated graphics (i.e. probably not a typical board for the Linux
enthusiast). but I'll look around a little to see who I may find..

Getting closer. There was something between 1.0.10 and 1.0.11rc1 which
broke this.
1.0.10 + the small patch from Bug #1563 works.
1.0.11rc1 fails with the "hanging looping on first buffer" syndrome.
Is there a CVS or similar where I can get the incremental changes between
1.0.10 and 1.0.11rc1? The full diff is a bit too large for me to try to
pinpoint this without knowing the design better...

Getting closer. There was something between 1.0.10 and 1.0.11rc1 which
broke this.
1.0.10 + the small patch from Bug #1563 works.
1.0.11rc1 fails with the "hanging looping on first buffer" syndrome.
Is there a CVS or similar where I can get the incremental changes between
1.0.10 and 1.0.11rc1? The full diff is a bit too large for me to try to
pinpoint this without knowing the design better...

Think I see the problem. The handling of positio_fix=0 (auto) changed from
FIFO to POSBUF in hda_intel.c revision 1.32. Maybe or maybe not
intentional (mentioned with other words in the commit message). module
parameter position_fix=3 (FIFO) works.

I have some additional notes regarding using Linux on this board posted in
the MSI forum. See <url:http://forum.msi.com.tw/index.php?topic=93296.0>.
Maybe you will find something useful there. Today I have a Fedora Core 5
test 2 + updates install where everything is working except for 3D
acceleration: sound, clock running normal, SMART control/checks of the
harddrives, fan control etc.

The CVS version should work. It detects the problematic hardware and use
another method as fallback.
