Summary: ALSA doesnt sense connected headphones
Description:
I have: Intel Corp. 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02)
with Realek ALC850 chipset (motherboard gigabyte 8ig1000G Pro).
When connecting headphones to line out (or other any output), I hear line
output (not apmlified).
I think, output to headphone must be amplified.

Attach the content of /proc/asound/card0/codec97#0/* files.

Check the register 0x7a in /proc/asound/card0/codec97#0/ac97#0-0+regs.
How are the bits 6 and 7? According to the datasheet, bit 7 corresponds
to the Front-out amplifier control.

When the driver is compiled with CONFIG_SND_DEBUG=y, you can edit the
register value via this proc file, like

    # echo 7a 2092 > /proc/asound/card0/codec97#0/ac97#0-0+regs
