Thanks for chips, but we also need to know the wiring between GPIO pins of
Envy24 to these chips. It can be determined with a cheap voltmeter, but
someone with skills with electronics should do this.

OK, do I have to test every pin of the Envy24 with every pin of the other
chips?
Is there any trick for the contacts? The pins are so small and i am not
that dexterous ;) .
And how should I number them?

I thought I could ask M-Audio for the details so I can avoid the work :).
The initial reaction has been positive and I gave them your (perex) mail
address and Clemens Ladisch's. I hope that was OK.

You need to download Envy24 datasheet and datasheets for AKM chips. Then
look for GPIO pins (Envy24) and three wire communication pins (AKM).
Basically, we need to know how are chips connected together.

There is some more work to do (other outputs, volume in alsamixer is now
separate for left and right chanell...), but these things are just
details.
