running alsamixer -a basic gives:
ALSA lib python.c:991:(alsa_mixer_simple_finit) Unable to find python module '/usr/lib/alsa-lib/smixer/python/main.py'

How do I build smixer/python/main.py ?

The file is found in alsa-lib*/modules/mixer/simple/python directory.
Looks like a missing installation in Makefile...
