BCM4329 running ok in Android and fails in debian

Greetings masters

Actually we are working on an Android tablet (ARM iMX51 ) running
kernel 2.6.35.3 and froyo. BCM4329 works just fine in Android.

I am trying to port a Debian  to this board  and for some unknown
reason the same BCM4329 does not work properly in Debian.

I am using the same module bcm4329.ko and firmware that used to work in Android.

In Debian I am able to connect to the AP but when I start more than
one download/upload process the wifi hangs. ?Using a USB-Wifi dongle I
have no problems at all (just to check if all libs and applications
iwlist/wpa_supplicant are working fine ).

If anyone had faced the same issue please let me know, I will start to
debug the module right now.

That's right. There are 2 driver I know: brcmfmac and (older?) bcm4329.

Have you tried brcmfmac?

No. I think you're probably better off asking on some android forum or list.
It's likelier to get some answers there.
Most people here only use or know about the softmac device. And they don't
have much in common.

Interesting, I wanted to play with BCM4329 and brcmfmac driver, but
Broadcom couldn't offer my any card "connectable" to standard PC.

AFAIK BCM4329 is usind SDIO interface.

Are you using Debian on your tablet? Or did you manage to put BCM4329
based card in "normal" PC?

Dear Rafal, I am using debian (armel) in our board, the board is
connected using a ULPI interface. I wonder we have any plugable PC
device based on the same chipset :), it would help a lot.

The kernel is pretty much the same that we use in android, anyway I
will perform tests using  brcmfmac as you said.

Yeah, I'd like to see PC-attachable card using BCM4329 some day.
Without that I can not really work on brcmfmac :/ Please let us know
if you ever discover anything interesting about this.

By the way, I told you that we were using a ULPI interface but that is
not true! Actually we are using MII bus.
