Can you please clarify whether you are talking about actual "network coding"
(as in CATWOMAN [1,2,3])? Because this part in batman-adv is mostly not used
for various reasons.
But when you are interested in network coding then you may get help from Simon
Wunderlich and Martin Hundeboll. But at least Simon is doing research in that
area - but not using batman-adv.

Many here are no (longer) university researchers. So we don't have a official
list of topics of such things. But maybe someone else has some ideas.
