Hi All,
I have built successfully kernel and file system image for IXP425
development board. When I try to boot the system, it boots till it shows
this screen and does not show the Busybox prompt on the screen .
I am trying to see that on the Serial Console.
I have also changed the line
#ttyS0::respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyS0 115200 vt100
to
ttyS0::respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyS0 115200 vt100
in /etc/inittab
to make the get the busybox on the serial console.
Please can any one help in this regard?
Thanks
-Ajay

Somewhat naively on my side, try the conservative convention
of only allowing two letter names for actions in inittab:
S0::respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyS0 115200 vt100
i.e., replace "ttyS0" by "S0" in the beginning. Some years ago
there was always a recommendation/demand two only use two letters.

Hi All,
Yesterday I reported having problems with busybox login not showing up after
i was successfully able to create both a kernel and system image for
ixp425(ARM big-endian) reference board.
Well I got the problem solved today. It was a simple busybox rebuild.
$make busybox-menuconfig
configure busybox according to requirements
and then
$make busybox
$make
then copy the image to the target.
It should boot.
For reference I have attached a .config file for the busybox....
Right now ...I am having trouble login in ...Whats the PASSWORD for the
root? LOL
I will figure it out..!!
Thanks and regards.
-Ajay

The password is not LOL but empty per default. I'm pretty sure that this
is documented somewhere..
