[Buildroot] buildroot 2009.02-rc1 releases

Hi,

With the source mirror stuff in place, we have all the features
required for the release, so I have released buildroot-2009.02-rc1 as
promised.

You can get it from:

http://buildroot.uclibc.org/downloads/buildroot-2009.02-rc1.tar.gz

http://buildroot.uclibc.org/downloads/buildroot-2009.02-rc1.tar.bz2

Please give it a spin and report back issues to the mailing list or
the bug tracker.

The plan is still to release the final 2009.02 release by FOSDEM
(February 7th).

Notice: I have NOT created a release branch as I want the release to
get as much testing as possible, so PLEASE only commit fixes to the
tree until we have the release out the door.

Fantastic job,

I have a couple of small fixes (only fixes) I want to apply - will try and 
get them in early next week.
A more stable release plan is really good.

Is is worth starting a list somewhere of features, changes etc we would like 
early on in the development of a new release?

- For me I would like us to have a serious look again at package structure 
as I am sure we could create less top level packages and extend on the idea 
of games/java/network/multimedia etc.
- I will also be adding stuff to do with sysroot'ed external toolchains as 
thats what I use.

Hello guys,

atngw100_defconfig's failing, for some reason "4.2.2" isn't being 
correctly past with "BR2_GCC_VERSION" from the defconfig to the build.

Started with a fresh download, 'make atngw100_defconfig', 'make'...

Build system: debian lenny amd64

I think it would be a good idea to have all things supported
by busybox in a single menu, instead of spread out
all over the place.
This menu should be enabled by the 
BR2_PACKAGE_BUSYBOX_HIDE_OTHERS config

I think, if putting all busybox alternatives into a single menu, then
the BR2_PACKAGE_BUSYBOX_HIDE_OTHERS option would lose it's purpose and
could be removed, because the menu would already have a descriptive
title.

That is because 4.2.2 was deprecated which probably makes sense
at this time.
I think that if you do a make menuconfig, then
the default compiler becomes 4.2.3 automagically.
I will update the defconfig.

I checked, and the 4.2.3 is actually using older binutils & uClibc
and there was some issue with it, (Don't remember which)
so I will make sure that the gcc-4.2.2 is enabled.

4.2.2 is what is used by HCE in the Atmel Buildroot
so this should be considered the latest,

There are maybe some new patches, that also should be
added before release.
