This means that you didn't properly set the C library in the buildroot
configuration. For example, your external toolchain uses glibc, but
BR2_TOOLCHAIN_EXTERNAL_CUSTOM_UCLIBC is set, or vice-versa.
This setting is in Toolchain -> External toolchain C library.

I guess the toolchain is for no-MMU and doesn't support shared library,
and for the moment, the external toolchain code makes the assumption
that the external toolchain supports shared library. This needs to be
improved a little bit in the external toolchain code.
