The two AVR32 build failures are fixed, they were caused by
dn_skipname() being missing on old uClibc used on AVR32.

However, the i686 and powerpc build failures are apparently caused by
the GnuTLS update. Gustavo, can you have a look?

Cairo/OpenGL problem, not sure what exactly.

cegui should depends on !BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB

Seems to be a uClibc issue on ARC:

e4defrag.c:203:12: error: conflicting types for 'posix_fadvise'

Mischa, can you have a look?

> arc | ffmpeg-0.8.15 | NOK | http://autobuild.buildroot.net/results/e3f7caf853d61c2f06969dbb780c2d7e5ad116a5/

ARC gcc compiler error:

libavcodec/snow.c:921:1: internal compiler error: in arc_ifcvt, at config/arc/arc.c:8530

Mischa, should I mark ffmpeg as !BR2_arc for the moment, until the
compiler issues are resolved?

Transient uClibc version error. Will be fixed by my patch that makes
Xtensa use a fixed uClibc version, rather than the latest snapshot.

Since the conversion to the package Python infrastructure, Ola
configure script no longer detects that the google.protobuf Python
module is installed. But it does this check in a way that is inherently
not cross-compilation safe. I've started the investigation, to be
continued.

I think we had this problem in the past. Note that the SH4 toolchain is

other toolchains are generated with Buildroot 2013.11-rc2).

Not xtensa specific, but uClibc related (missing -lrt; all uClibc version are
affected). See http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.uclibc.buildroot/72570.
For some reason, however, the autobuilder selects the m4 package mostly for
xtensa and sometimes also arc.

It is already upstreamed; but 5.2.0 didn't include it because of the feature
freeze.

Excellent, thanks!

I've already told you I believe, but let's repeat it again: many
thanks, many thanks for the work you're doing around Qt5. It is really
great to have someone taking care in such a great way of the Qt5
packaging, and ensuring that all the patches are upstreamed in a timely
fashion. Thanks!

I have tried uncommenting these lines from this header file:

// #elif defined(__avr32__)

// #  define Q_BYTE_ORDER Q_BIG_ENDIAN

... but build failed with another error:

thread/qthread_unix.cpp:126: error: thread-local storage not supported for this target

It seems there is no support for avr32.

Yes, AVR32 does not have TLS support, as far as I remember. We'll have
to disable Qt5 on this architecture, then.

I've just posted a patch.

I believe it has been suggested before to introduce HAS_PTHREADS_NATIVE and let it depend on this.

Back then you were reworking internal toolchain build infrastructure; do you want me to make a new patch that introduces this (and also adds an option for external toolchain where applicable?)

1st issue is about length of some instructions being counted incorrectly, which makes compiler select short branch instructions where they don't fit,
2nd issue is about if-conversion trying to predicate instructions that cannot be predicated.

I have been filing internal bug reports for these and I believe both issues are fixed. We just need to update git commit ID for gcc, binutils, etc.
Let me discuss which exact release should be used and get back to you (i.e. I'll submit a patch with version bump of the tools).
Everyone is out for the holiday season now, so it may take another week or so.

After thinking about it, I believe it's a little bit too heavy to add
yet another Kconfig knob to know whether the toolchain has NPTL support
or not. Since for the moment, only iozone is affected by this problem,
I believe an iozone-specific solution is better.

So I've just sent a patch against iozone that adds a dummy empty
pthread_setaffinity_np() function when the uClibc doesn't use NPTL.
Since most likely the absence of NPTL is going to be on non-SMP
architectures, it's not a big problem to not have
pthread_setaffinity_np().

Let me know what you think about it.

Sure, no problem.

Thanks!

There is a bug report[1] for AArch64 with a patch for Qt4. I have started
watching it.

qtscript has an old copy of JavaScriptCore directory found in qtwebkit.
qtdeclarative has stuff from v8 project; but it is quite different from
others. None of these packages have support for AArch64. We must disable them
on AArch64 until the bundled javascript interpreters gain support for this
architecture.

It seems the supported architectures are common for these packages.
qt5declarative and qt5webkit have also code for SH4; but I can't test it since
the build of zlib dependency fails on sh4.

I have posted patches adding needed dependencies.
