What is the status of this patch? I think you later posted another
big RFC patch series that bumps the entire Kodi stack to the latest
beta version, and it was quite significantly changing the handling of
add-ons, IIRC.

So I'd like to understand if this patch is still current or not.

Kodi Isengard reached rc2 last week, so I think its release will happen in 
the foreseeable future. Therefore this patch makes no sense anymore imho, I 
marked it as superseded in patchworks.
