I'm using your patch "hung build: convert to monitor thread" v2 and it seems
there is a corner case with boost package and the sanitize rpath script.
I don't understand why the timeout is trigged here.
I've rebuilt boost on the autobuilder without any issue.
Do you have an idea ?

For this one it looks like our timeout needs to be longer. Maybe we
could set it to 2hrs and see if we hit.

The build-time.log ends with:
1515201587:start:extract : host-ti-cgt-pru
And 1515201587 is:
Saturday, January 6, 2018 2:19:47 AM GMT+01:00
I.e, it does match the mtime of 02:19:47.
So it really seems like this extract step was stuck for an hour.
To me, this log shows that the hung detector worked as expected, and
that for this specific situation, the problem is that the extract step
of host-ti-cgt-pru never completes.
