I'm planning to use buildroot to generate a toolchain(for mips target or
whatever), my host is Solaris10(x86), I'm not sure if it's possible or not.

I don't remember ever seeing any patches for solaris (but we did have
some for macosx / cygwin), so it may or may not work - I'm afraid
you're on your own.
In any case, the primary OS (E.G. the only target OS and what the
developers are using) is Linux.
