What is you fio command line ?
do you test with numjobs > 1 ?
(I think under qemu, you can use any numjobs value, as it's use only 1 thread, is equal to numjobs=1)

the idea to use fio-librbd was very good.
I cannot reproduce the behaviour using fio-rbd. I can just reproduce it
with qemu.
Very strange. So please ignore me for the moment. I'll try to dig deeper
into it.
