We have a tunnel machine at work thats running iproute2 and each gre tunnel
is connected to a Cisco 1720 Router for our home T1 connections

Here's the config for my T1

ip tunnel add hugo mode gre remote 208.179.32.210 local 216.116.96.22 ttl
255
ip addr add 192.168.1.1 dev hugo
ip link set hugo up
ip link set hugo mtu 1514
ip route add 10.10.1.0/24 dev hugo

Every so often my network at home looses connection to the tunnel.

To fix this somebody at work from the 192.168.1.0/24 network has to ping
10.10.1.1 and then my tunnel comes write back up. I know its a
configuration on the tunnel box because before we had a Cisco 2610 doing
the tunnel connections for us and our links never dropped has anybody ever
experienced these problems before?
