Hello,

I have installed VMWare on a Win2k PRO platform and RedHat Linux 6.2 in WMWare..
Win2k ip=192.168.1.62/24 , Gateway=192.168.1.1
Linux ip=192.168.1.247/24 , Gateway=192.168.1.1

My problem is that somehow, the admin did something with the ipchains on the server(192.168.1.1) and if
I exec 'tracert 192.168.1.247' from the win2k console it gives me the route to that host, but if I exec
'traceroute 192.168.1.62' on the linux host the packets get lost.
The same problem is with the ping , it goes one way ONLY!!!...

My question is how do I do that all the packets that go out of the linux box to bypass the gateway and go directly to my win2k...Do I have to add a new route in linux, and if so, how?

Thank you in advance...
