I am new in the IPRoute2 List and this is my question:

How many ethernet adapters may I setup in Linux machine?

As many as you can plug into you main board :)

No, seriously, I saw a posting (it was on the netfilter list) from
someone who had 40 (forty!) ethernet ports in one box - but it was
special hardware. And it ran with Linux :-)
