     There has been a tiny free C compiler (Small-C) available for
a long time; it was originally written for CP/M so it may be small
enough for ELKS.  I'm not really very proficient at K&R C, but I
have managed to compile three of the four parts of the compiler with
BCC.  I may have the CP/M version on an old CDROM; it might be even
smaller.  I'll check into this more and report back.
