Hi Alan !
I wrote you one or two months ago for translate in italian
ELKS FAQ .Do you remember me ? No ?
I'm Daniele , I'm italian and I'm 13. Now , I've translated
only seven pages of english ELKS FAQ because I go to school.
Now I'm working for create an ELKS based box for 8086 and
80286 processors with my LUG ( http://xalug.tuxlab.org ) .
Could you add me in developers list ?
And could you add my news at ELKS home page ?
I think I've found a method to install ELKS on a computer
without boot floppy and I'm working at.
What do you think about ?
Reply me soon :PPP

Hi Daniele,

I'm one of the elks develpers of sorts. Alan forwarded your mail to the
list and I wasn't sure if anyones replied to you yet.

That's great, why don't you send what you've done as an attachment to
the elks list, or put it on a web page if it's quite large.

This may take a bit of time as a sourceforge developer, but I highly
recommend you join the mailing list if you are not on it already.

To subscribe to the ELKS mailing list, send an email to
majordomo@vger.kernel.org containing the words...

	subscribe linux-8086

...in the body of the email. The subject line is ignored.

> And could you add my news at ELKS home page ?

I'm sure someone with commit access will do it some time, or check out
the elksweb tree, add your news, create a diff and send a patch to the
list :) That way people don't have to think about things...

Excellent, it's probably worth joining the mailing list and Âending a
link to your current work.

I suggest you also have a look at the work being done by neil holmes
which hasn't moved onto the main site yet.

Hope to hear more from you, the ELKS community is friendly, so sign up
to the list and start contributing.

Hi Daniele.

Alan passed this on to the Linux-8086 mailing list, and I picked it up
there. The original as received here didn't have your email address in
it, so I asked Alan to pass my reply back to you, but another copy has
arrived with your email address in it, so I am replying to that as well.

Welcome to the world of software development and (more importantly)
documentation. I have the pleasure of being the ELKS website maintainer,
and I am most definitely interested in seeing the results of your
labours as referred to above.

We are currently working towards having the ELKS website appear in the
preferred language of the viewer automatically, but Italian is not one
of the the languages we currently have translations for. As a result,
anything you produce in that language is most certainly welcome.

> Now I'm working for create an ELKS based box for 8086 and

Have you seen the work Neil is doing towards getting an ELKS distro
started? I'm working on rewriting one of my tools that I originally
wrote for Linux so it also works with ELKS to help with this, and Pascal
is rewriting his boot loader to help with this as well.

> Could you add me in developers list ?

Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to do so, so I will have to pass
that part of your request back to Alan Cox who is the only person I know
still active in ELKS who has suchlike ability at this time.

If you could explain this news a bit better so I understand what you are
referring to, I will most certainly add it to the ELKS website's news.

Best wishes from Riley.
