Hello,

My /var/log/messages is being flooded with this error message:

modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module

How do I find out which module is missing; seems this error message is
missing something.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Scott.

Could an empty line in /etc/modules.conf cause a
message like the one you say?
Or an apparently empty line with just one space
or tab?

If not in modules.conf, perhaps somewhere else?...

Just guessing,
Gerardo

Maybe. There was a blank line at the top of that file. That might explain
the lack of module ID in the log.

Cheers.
